An elegant, historic setting nestled
in the heart of Greenwich.

Bright dining room with large windows, a wooden table with chairs, a fireplace with a painting above, and a red patterned rug.

In 1952, the Woman’s Club of Greenwich found its permanent home in a stately Victorian residence built in 1900 and set on 3.5 acres of historic land once owned by one of Greenwich’s founding families. With 20 rooms, 8 fireplaces, and a rich past, the clubhouse quickly became a vibrant gathering place for members and the community. More than 800 guests attended the opening tea that year, setting the stage for decades of tradition and connection.

From the very start, the Club welcomed national voices to its stage. In its first year, members hosted George W. Perkins on food conservation, Mrs. William English Walling on the “New Russia,” and Professor G. Clyde Fisher of The American Museum of Natural History, who presented a children’s program on wild animals. Proceeds from these lectures were donated to the Red Cross, reflecting the Club’s enduring commitment to philanthropy.

Today, the clubhouse continues to serve as a treasured community resource, hosting weddings, celebrations, and civic gatherings, while the carriage house behind it provides space for Meals on Wheels and a private apartment—extending the Club’s tradition of service well beyond its walls.
